Extensive design program (Pitch)
TURMÖL is the largest gas station discounter chain in Austria. The family owned business has over 70 stations all over the country with high ambitions on expanding to the neighbour countries. As times in the automobile industry are drastically changing, the company realised that the brand needed to prep for the future. With that in mind, an expansion of business areas/an integration of new services (energy trading and logistic solutions) was an essential step. That also involved a renaming of the corporate brand – from TURMÖL to TURM. With that one-brand strategy a clear and flexible classification of all products can be communicated.
The brief involved an extensive and clear visual identity system for the umbrella brand TURM and its business areas that leads the brand into the future and differentiates itself from its competitors. The three TURM business areas are 1. energy trading (offering mineral oil, natural gas, electricity), 2. gas stations (offering refuel, washing, electric charging), 3. logistics.
The VIS development comprised a simplified symbol where all unnecessary elements were removed, a bespoke typeface, updated pictograms and a fresher color palette, a more lively picture language as well as a consistent nomenclature across all devisions. All elements have been created to performa across various platforms and media. Reducing to its bare essentials.
